Mi Amor Siempre ‘57

I’m not exactly sure why, but I LOVE finding engravings like this around town!! Maybe it’s the brief insight that I’m given into a stranger’s life through their ‘one line autobiography’… perhaps it’s the wondering about whether “Julie y Lencho” ‘s relationship is still going strong or if I’ve brought it back to life by reading “Mi Amor Siempre”… it could quite possibly be that I’m just fascinated by this moment that I now share with a stranger, an inadvertent connection with someone whom I share nothing more in common than being at this exact same spot in the world a number of years after they had!

Mike Skinner’s musical endeavor, The Streets, have played a HUGE part in my maturing into the man that I am today. Every album that came out seemed to hit on what I was going through in my life, accompanying me through the ups and downs… a sort of soundtrack for my life!

A lot of bands claim to ‘retire’ or that their current album is there last, only to be followed up 3 years later by a shitty comeback album… but Computers and Blues feels like a goodbye from an old friend and, although you may not cross paths with them again, you wish them the best on the rest of their journey. What a great album to go out on! This is my favorite choon from C and B…
